Underwriter Insure AI (m/f/d)*

The Insure AI team is part of the New and Green Technologies business unit in Munich Re’s Global Specialty Insurance (GSI) division. You would join an experienced international business unit structuring insurance and reinsurance solutions for risks of AI and Generative AI applications. You would source and underwrite AI insurance transactions on the direct side as well as support in sourcing and structuring whitelabeled reinsurance solutions for our AI insurance product set. The position will be based in Munich, Germany.

Your Job

• Sourcing AI and GenAI (re-)insurance opportunities with European and London Market brokers for corporates, tech companies, and financial institutions
• Sourcing whitelabeled reinsurance opportunities with European and London Market insurers for our AI insurance product set
• Supporting development of AI and GenAI liability-related insurance solutions
• Building and managing relationships with (re-)insurance brokers in Europe and the London Market
• Engaging with clients and colleagues in deal teams to underwrite the risks of machine learning systems
• Leading commercial negotiations with cedents, brokers and corporate risk managers for the developed risk-transfer solutions
• Collaborating with colleagues in traditional lines of business, like Cyber or Liability, to drive the AI insurance market development

Your Profile

• Law degree is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Casualty (re-)insurance or related fields
• Experience in structuring the underwriting of liabilities of new technologies is a plus
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, best practices in their implementation and performance evaluation
• Strong networking and stakeholder management skills
• A good understanding of AI and GenAI models and their theoretical foundation is a plus
• Willingness to pioneer an emerging market and navigate unchartered territory with enthusiasm, adaptability, and resilience
• Fluency in English is a must, fluency in German a plus
• Willingness to work in deal teams distributed across different time zones and continents
• Willingness to travel
