The Company

Our client is a specialist MGA operating at the intersection of insurance, investment, and legal risk. They design innovative litigation-risk solutions — including ATE insurance, Security for Costs, and Capital Protection — supporting law firms, funders, and claimants across Ireland and Europe .

As the business continues to grow internationally, they’re looking for an experienced Underwriter to help strengthen their portfolio and shape underwriting strategy across European markets.

The Job

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys complex risk and wants to work in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment. You’ll assess and underwrite litigation-related risks, partner with brokers and funders, and play a hands-on role in growing a diverse book of business.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex litigation and commercial dispute cases across Ireland and Europe.
• Conduct legal and financial due diligence, pricing, and portfolio impact analysis.
• Manage and grow client relationships with brokers, funders, and legal partners.
• Contribute to product development and underwriting strategy.
• Monitor live matters and recommend adjustments where needed.
• Support junior team members and promote best underwriting practice.

The Person

• Qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent) OR experienced litigation-risk underwriter.
• Strong understanding of ATE, Security for Costs or similar legal risk products.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial mindset with a pragmatic approach to underwriting decisions.
• Familiar with underwriting systems and Excel-based analysis.
• Based in Ireland, with flexibility to collaborate across European markets.
