ENG Bauen is supporting a major international engineering contractor and owner organisation on a large-scale petrochemical construction programme in Germany, delivered as part of a long-term energy and circular economy investment. The project is in an advanced construction phase, where vendor performance, site integration, and package readiness are critical to maintaining schedule and protecting system handover.

We are seeking an experienced Vendor Manager to take full ownership of on-site vendor coordination and package execution. This is a site-based delivery role, responsible for driving vendor engagement during installation, supporting construction and testing activities, and ensuring vendor-supplied equipment and packages are fully supported through mechanical completion and handover.

The role sits at the core interface between Construction, QA/QC, Completions, and Equipment Vendors, with direct accountability for preventing late vendor-driven issues, resolving interface gaps, and ensuring vendor scope is closed out in line with project quality and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary site interface between equipment vendors and the project team.
• Coordinate vendor mobilisation, site visits, and technical support during installation and testing.
• Track and close vendor punch items, deficiencies, and open technical actions.
• Support FAT / SAT follow-ups, red-line documentation, and vendor deliverables.
• Interface with Construction, QA/QC, and Completions to align vendor scope with system handover.
• Ensure vendor activities support mechanical completion and do not delay system turnover.
• Maintain accurate records of vendor actions, inspections, and close-out status.

Qualifications & Experience

• Engineering or technical background (Mechanical, E&I, or similar).
• 5+ years’ experience supporting vendor packages on large EPC / industrial construction projects.
• Strong site-based experience within petrochemical, refinery, energy, or heavy industry.
• Proven ability to manage vendors in a live construction environment.
• Clear understanding of construction sequencing, quality requirements, and handover workflows.
• English required; German advantageous.
