Are you a scientist looking to get started in Munich's startup community? Then become part of the TUM Venture Labs Food/Agro/Biotech (FAB) at the Weihenstephan campus. As entrepreneurial innovation centers, the TUM Venture Labs drive technology-based spin-offs at the interfaces of engineering, natural and life sciences, AI/IT, and medicine in a unique way. They support entrepreneurial talents with spin-offs around promising innovation focus areas and provide founders with a complete ecosystem including the necessary development environments. The TUM Venture Lab FAB is the central interface for all founding activities related to agriculture and food. We enable science especially along the food value chain in order to achieve practical application To this end, we are seeking, at the earliest possible date, a Venture Manager in Beverage and Food Technology (m/f/d)(50% part-time, fixed-term initially for 2 years) TUM Venture Lab Food/Agro/Biotech.

Your Mission

  • Project management: You will independently and autonomously coordinate and drive the food area for the strategic further development of the TUM Venture Lab FAB—especially in the areas of targeted start-up support, organization and process design of the TUM Venture Labs, and events.
  • Stakeholder management: In close coordination with relevant stakeholders, including within the TUM/UnternehmerTUM ecosystem, you will structure and prioritize food-specific requirements and actively help shape the content.
  • Integration of academia: As a scientist at the TUM Weihenstephan campus, you will address TUM chairs in a targeted manner and support them in spinning off research projects.
  • Close collaboration within the FAB team: You will work closely with our team. Within it, you will be responsible for all food projects and align them with our other focus areas in agriculture and biotech.

Your Profile

  • Background in food technology or engineering with pronounced organizational skills; an academic track record as a master's graduate or doctoral candidate is highly desired.
  • A passion for advancing entrepreneurship in the food sciences in Europe.
  • Strong social skills combined with the ability to work in a team.
  • High goal orientation with the ability to coordinate and lead complex projects.
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder alignment and finding joint solutions.
  • High level of personal responsibility and a pronounced "get things done" mentality.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English and German, with a high degree of confidence in communication with internal and external organizations.

The position is initially limited to two (2) years. Employment and remuneration are in accordance with TV-L E13. TUM aims to increase the proportion of women.
