Job Overview

Administrative employee (m/f/d) in the traffic authority at the Mobility and Civil Engineering Office, Department Building and Operation. Position located in Darmstadt.

• Working time: part‑time (24.5 or 23 hours per week)
• Remuneration: A10 HBesG or EG 9b TVöD
• Gross salary: 2 168,42 € – 3 048,18 € (depending on experience)
• Monthly salary: 12 702,8 € (incl. annual special payment)

Responsibilities

• Examining and monitoring traffic signs and equipment as per the StVO.
• Processing and deciding traffic administrative matters.
• Preparing legally binding statements and information on traffic‑related issues.
• Cooperating with road construction owners on traffic planning and providing statements regarding the drafting and amendment of urban development plans with regard to the StVO.

Profile / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration or equivalent, or completion of the civil service exam for the upper general civil service, or relevant experience qualifying for that level.
• Or civil servants with a mid‑level exam who, through promotion, have acquired the qualifications for the upper general civil service.
• Or completed training as a civil service specialist (II level) or equivalent 3‑year civil service training.
• Solid computer skills (MS Office).
• Excellent German language skills (C1).
• Initiative, resilience, teamwork, organizational ability.
• Class 3 or B driving licence.
• High willingness for field work.
• Suitable for prolonged computer use.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Very good knowledge of traffic law.
• Good local knowledge.
• Experience in public service.
• Knowledge of administrative procedures.
