VP of Engineering (AI) - €190k + Equity

A-Tech's client is a fast-growing European startup building no-code AI voice agents that automate business calls from customer support to lead qualification. Backed by a recent $20M Series A, they’ve already handled tens of millions of calls, saved millions of hours in operations, and are expanding globally.

After successfully scaling to 70 people, 30 of whom are engineers, they are in need of an experienced VP of Engineering with 8-12 years of experience, specifically in scaling early-stage startups (Seed to Series B+) with expertise from an AI or high-growth company.

What you'll do:

• Define and execute the technical roadmap and architecture for scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of action, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• This role is 75% focused on management, managing 5 Direct Reports (30ppl in total): two team leads, a Head of Engineering, and three staff engineers, serving as an extension of the CTO.
• 25% hands-on, ensuring best practices in CI/CD, TDD, code reviews, and overall software quality.
• To level up green tech leads and staff engineers, engage in hands-on technical work, including potential pair programming.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with People, Finance, and GTM teams on topics like financial planning, product shipment, and feature releases.
• Occasionally assist in closing big deals by leveraging your business acumen

What you'll bring:

• Proven track record of scaling early-stage start-ups through key growth phases (Series Seed-D)
• Experience in AI or Voice/Conversational Technology
• At least 2+ years of directly managing 5+ direct reports and overseeing 15+ ppl
• 8+ yrs of hands-on technical background with a strong focus on Golang, Python, and TypeScript
• Experience in owning Platform & DevOps
• Experience in B2B enterprise client environments
• Experience with low-latency stream processing
• Strong communication skills, fluent English is a MUST
