Buena is building the operating system for property management. We acquire property management companies, integrate them into our software platform, and professionalize their operations - dramatically increasing margins while managing more units with better service.

About the Role

As VP's Associate in our Operations team, you will work as the right hand to our VP Operations, Linus. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role at the intersection of strategy and execution. You will support and drive key initiatives across finance, growth, and core operations - acting as a strategic sparring partner while getting your hands dirty in day-to-day execution.

You will report directly to the VP Operations and work closely with the COO, regional managers, and site leads.

Your Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data of portfolio companies (revenue per unit, margin structures, cost drivers)
  • Build business cases and financial models for strategic initiatives

Growth

  • Identify and execute levers to increase revenue across portfolio companies
  • Evaluate adjacent business opportunities (e.g., insurance, brokerage)
  • Model unit economics for new revenue streams

Core Operations

  • Drive the integration of portfolio companies into Buena's software platform
  • Work with team leads on-site to professionalize processes and improve margins
  • Support recruiting efforts at portfolio companies in collaboration with our talent team
  • Own operational projects end-to-end, such as regulatory compliance initiatives (e.g., heating cost regulations)

Right Hand to the VP

  • Act as a strategic sparring partner to the VP Operations
  • Take ownership of cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives
  • Prepare materials and analyses for leadership discussions

Your Profile

Must-haves:

  • Fluent German (C2 level) — this is a German-language operating environment
  • Based in Berlin with willingness to travel regularly to portfolio companies across Germany
  • Professional experience in e.g., consulting, operations, finance, or startup environment
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable with P&Ls, margin analysis, and financial modeling
  • High sense of ownership and bias toward action
  • Comfort with a high-intensity work environment

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in property management or real estate
  • Background in post-merger integration or operational transformation
  • Familiarity with software rollouts or change management
