Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing daily warehouse operations
- Manage and optimize warehouse workflows to ensure efficiency in receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping
- Monitor productivity metrics and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with company policies and industry regulations
Leading and Managing Warehouse Staff
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor employee performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed
- Resolve workplace conflicts and maintain high team morale
Ensuring Inventory Accuracy
- Oversee cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation processes to maintain accurate inventory records
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in stock levels
- Work closely with the procurement and logistics teams to prevent shortages or overstock situations
Enforcing Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all warehouse operations adhere to OSHA and German safety regulations
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of workplace safety
- Perform routine inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards
Supporting Efficient Shipping, Receiving, and Storage
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to meet customer delivery deadlines
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions for maximum space utilization
- Ensure proper handling of goods, including fragile, hazardous, or high-value items
Utilizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Operate and troubleshoot WMS software to track inventory movements and generate reports
- Train team members on WMS functionalities to improve efficiency
- Analyze data to identify trends and recommend operational improvements
Collaborating with Other Departments
- Work closely with procurement, transportation, and customer service teams to streamline supply chain operations
- Communicate with suppliers and carriers to resolve shipment delays or issues
- Provide input on warehouse budgeting, resource planning, and equipment needs
Qualifications & Skills Required
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics supervisory role
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) – SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices and lean warehouse principles
- Familiarity with German and EU logistics regulations (preferred)
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities – capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (German and English proficiency required)
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting and documentation
- Forklift certification (preferred but not mandatory)
