Welthungerhilfe, a leading humanitarian organization, is seeking an Expert Finance and Processes Anticipatory Action to join its Program Management Unit. This role is part of the Program Finance and Operations (PFO) team within the Finance Unit and plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s Anticipatory Humanitarian Action Program.

The position is based in Bonn or Berlin, Germany , or a country office within another Welthungerhilfe program country. The contract starts May 1, 2026 , running until April 30, 2029 , with strong prospects for extension.

Role Overview

The Expert Finance and Processes Anticipatory Action contributes to the success of the Finance Unit and the wider organization by providing analytical, advisory, and interpretive financial expertise . This position requires independent management of complex topics and involvement in strategic development, coordination, and implementation of processes and projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Financial Coordination and Management:
  • Oversee finances in compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Activate budgets in FundsPro and coordinate budget planning.
  • Ensure accurate input and updates of financial data in FundsPro and reconcile with ProMIS.
• Budget Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Prepare financial overviews to track budgets.
  • Collaborate with project/program management for up-to-date expenditure, income, and liquidity planning.
  • Conduct quality checks and prepare aggregated financial reports.
• Stakeholder Support:
  • Serve as contact for financial reports and inquiries.
  • Coordinate financial matters with RFM contacts in participating country offices.
  • Assist in risk assessment and monitoring for projects and programs.
• Audit and Compliance:
  • Support internal and external audits and implement improvement measures.
  • Reconcile financial data between FundsPro and ProMIS.
  • Manage financial coordination for partner agreements in line with regulations.

Candidate Profile

Welthungerhilfe seeks a highly qualified candidate with the following attributes:

• Education: University or polytechnic degree in accounting, controlling, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in program financial management.
  • Experience managing projects funded by the German Federal Foreign Office .
  • International financial management experience is desirable.
• Skills:
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel to areas with volatile conditions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
