Job Title: Warehouse Management System (WMS) Expert / Application Owner

Type: Full-Time; on-site/hybrid

Job Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced WMS Expert to lead the end-to-end implementation of a new Warehouse Management System in highly automated fulfilment centres. This pivotal role would work closely with logistics operations and involves gathering business requirements, designing the WMS solution (including interfaces), collaborating with external providers, managing testing cycles, training key users, and ensuring a smooth go-live through effective hypercare management.

Post-implementation, the role will transition into an Application Owner position, responsible for driving continuous improvement, ensuring system stability, and aligning the WMS with evolving business needs as well as supporting future roll-outs to the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the WMS implementation lifecycle from requirements definition to go-live.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to design the WMS, carrier management module and interfaces.
• Manage and execute functional testing and support key users in UAT.
• Develop and deliver training programs for super-users (train the trainer).
• Plan, organize, and lead hypercare activities post-go-live, ensuring issue resolution and user support.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse applications within the organization.
• Oversee ongoing system maintenance, upgrades, and performance monitoring.
• Identify, prioritize, and drive continuous improvement initiatives (including configuration and/or requirements definition for external providers), working closely with the logistics operations team.

Experience Needed:

• Proven hands-on experience in Tier 1 WMS implementations (SAP, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, Korber, Infor)
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and related IT systems.
• Experience with system integration, functional testing, and user training.
• Strong communication skills (C1 level) in German and English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with automation systems in warehouses (AutoStore, conveyor systems) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies is an advantage.
