Payloads is responsible for everything you see when you fly inside the airplane, including the interior, lavatories, galleys, cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety. We enable airline customers to fulfill their mission and represent their brand.
Our Boeing Commercial Airplanes Team is located in Hamburg, the Gateway to the World, where we oversee Cabin and Cargo Engineering across all Boeing programs. Our globally collaborative team combines functional design with aesthetic appeal and focuses on accessibility and desirability.
In this role you will
- Own the full customer introduction lifecycle for 787 Interior Monuments and Galleys, including technical definition, feasibility studies, configuration development, design validation and verification to meet customer, regulatory, and Boeing requirements
- Establish technical direction and manage integrated schedules, prioritize tasks to drive project success, mitigate risks, collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues in design and interface as well as verification, and support recovery efforts throughout the program
- Manage supplier design, testing, and production activities, ensuring integration and delivery align with program schedules and quality standards
- Support global stakeholder engagement and provide production and post-delivery support to ensure program success
- Develop and implement improved design processes, tools, and keep an eye on emerging technology concepts to enhance efficiency and innovation

What you bring to the table
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing engineering or a comparable degree
- 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals with schedule milestones, resource assessments, risk and issues management
Additionally preferred skills
- Experience: Extensive experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria, certification (EASA CS-25 and/or FAA Title 14 Part 25) and production or maintenance processes (EASA Part 21G and/or EASA Part-145)
- Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate experience with aircraft interior modification programs with attention to detail and capability to review design packages
- Collaboration: Experience leading complex projects, influencing team members and stakeholders, and mentoring less experienced staff
- Tools: Proficiency with Catia V5/V6, ENOVIA, IVT
- Personality: Principled, reliable, safety- and quality-focused, inclusive and collaborative, transparent communication, and ownership to drive results
- Flexibility: Comfortable with a variable work statement and global time zones
