What we do

We are the second largest furniture retailer in Europe. With us you will operate highly complex ecommerce platforms across multiple European markets to drive our online presence further. You will join 100 IT colleagues hailing from more than 20 nations in our newly opened, spacious Berlin office, which oversees our entire IT operations for all of Europe.

What you will do

1. Contribute across the full technology stack, from database, infrastructure that supports deployments to Front-end development. As a Software Developer you will work in an agile cross-functional team with the Product Owners, Designers and Software Testers to drive our Online Shops and other digital products forward.
2. Development of Front-end features based on MVC Design Pattern
3. Creating views/templates and styles in our Atomic Design Methodology
4. Implementing client side JavaScript
5. Developing Application side controller logic
6. Collaborating with backend developers to design REST APIs and Data Models
7. Further Development of our Content Management Systems including Data Models, GUIs and integration of new features and tools in our ecosystem
8. Creating Unit Tests and supporting the Testing & QA Team with UI Tests
9. Consulting the Product Owners in architectural and technological decisions to ensure that we stay on the leading edge of technology

Main requirements

1. At least 5 years of software development experience in agile teams
2. 3+ years of experience building modular frontends utilizing React (or other modern frameworks)
3. 2+ years of experience leading software development teams
4. 2+ years of experience designing microservice applications utilizing NodeJS / Express
5. Excellent knowledge of MongoDB and one other common SQL or NoSQL database technology such as Cassandra or MySQL/MariaDB
6. Infrastructure knowledge including REST APIs, Search Technologies like Solr/Lucene
7. Good programming skills in at least 1 more modern programming language/framework
8. Working knowledge of tools like Gulp, npm, Jenkins
9. Working knowledge of DevOps, Docker, NGINX
10. Experience with at least one unit testing framework, such as JUnit

Nice to have

German language skills are a plus
