As our Technical Director Energy , you will lead our energy infrastructure activities in Germany. Your key responsibilities include: further developing and supporting our energy business offerings, providing technical leadership, proactively identifying new business opportunities, and building strong relationships with local clients. You will be based in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Munich, or Frankfurt am Main, with the possibility of partly remote work through flexible, self-organized arrangements.

This role offers:

  • Setting the vision and priorities for Arup’s Energy Business Plan in Germany.
  • Driving growth and market recognition of Arup’s Energy Business and Brand in Germany.
  • Expanding our energy project portfolio across existing and new clients, focusing on Transmission System Operators in Germany.
  • Developing and implementing new service pillars, including Renewable Energy Advisory, Technical Due Diligence, Project Management, and Hydrogen.
  • Contributing to both Advisory Services and Engineering Design Services.
  • Providing technical leadership on complex projects related to power transmission networks, electricity interconnectors, green hydrogen, or geothermal energy.
  • Promoting knowledge sharing across Europe.

Your ideal profile:

We welcome applications even if you don't meet all requirements:

  • University degree in electrical engineering or related fields in the energy sector.
  • 20+ years of experience in developing and implementing energy projects with a strong engineering background.
  • 10+ years of experience leading project teams in the energy sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of the German energy market, especially large utility companies, with a strong network.
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
