Role Overview
As Technical Product Manager (TPM), you will be a key member of the Sharp Reflections’ product team, reporting directly to the Head of Product. You will be responsible for maximizing the customer value of the product resulting from the work of the Scrum team. The Technical Product Manager is specifically accountable for effective and ongoing backlog management, ensuring the product has the required functionality implemented in a timely manner and in the accordance with the company’s product vision, business objectives, and internal/external stakeholder needs. You will gather feature requests from both internal and external sources and translate customer needs into user stories, representing customers and acting as a cross-functional, collaborative facilitator with geoscientists in an engaging and innovative scientific environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the delivery of software product updates required by the business through ownership of continuous backlog prioritization.
- Collaborate with the Product Team (comprising Software Engineers, TPMs, Geophysical Advisors, and the Heads of Product & Engineering), ensuring product delivery is aligned with product vision and roadmap.
- Manage the day-to-day priorities of the product backlog and collaborate with the Software Engineering and Product teams to ensure shared understanding between all involved team members.
- Ensure successful sprint completion and process streamlining in Agile scrum framework, in collaboration with Scrum Master and Product/Engineering leadership.
- Suggest and agree upon sprint objectives, frequently inspect, adapt, review, and refine the software development process.
- Liaise and conduct interviews with stakeholders (customers, business managers, subject matter experts, advisors, and software engineers) to collect business intelligence data, driving product decisions to ultimately better the product.
- Clearly translate problem statements and business value (“What” & “Why”) to user stories that can be broken down into tasks in collaboration with the Engineering team. Address questions/concerns regarding customers’ pain points, needs, and desires – primarily by being accessible to your peers.
- Promote user value for upcoming releases and existing technology via customer presentations, webinars, company events, etc.
- Occasionally participate in (pre-)sales meetings to support the commercial team, promoting technical functionality and capabilities of the software.
- Contribute to technical specification sheets for the software.
- Occasionally assist in onboarding new customers to the software, ensuring their smooth entry into the software.

Location:
This position is available in any location where Sharp Reflections has a legal entity, with the preferred location being in Europe due to the time zone requirements and the availability to collaborate with the Developer team in Germany. The selected work location will be determined by where we identify and hire the most qualified candidate for the role.
