Technical Product Marketing Manager

Bruin is a unified analytics platform located in Berlin, Germany that focuses on transformation, data quality, observability, and governance. We provide a comprehensive solution for data management and analytics, helping organizations make informed decisions based on data-driven insights.

Role

You’ll be the owner of Bruin’s product narrative—translating deep technical capabilities into crisp positioning, running high-signal launches, and enabling our PLG + sales-assisted motion. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves developer products, data infrastructure, and shipping clear, opinionated stories backed by evidence.

What You'll Do

• Define ICPs/personas and a concise messaging framework across CLI, Ingestr, and Cloud
• Write site copy, product pages, solution briefs, and technical one-pagers
• Plan and run launches (teaser → beta → GA) with clear timelines and assets
• Partner with DevRel/Eng on blogs, guides, talks, benchmarks, and reference architectures
• Maintain competitive/market landscape and win/loss insights
• Inform pricing/packaging and roadmap with customer and usage data
• Track PMM KPIs and iterate via experiments and message tests

First 90 Days

• Ship a refreshed messaging framework across web, deck, and demo
• Deliver a full enablement kit for a strategic launch
• Stand up a weekly insights report and a quarterly market brief
• Publish two high-leverage assets (e.g., CDC reliability guide, hybrid reference arch)

Requirements

• 5+ years PMM for devtools/data infra (DB/ELT/CDC/orchestration/observability)
• Fluency in sources/destinations, snapshots vs WAL/CDC, schema evolution, governance
• End-to-end launch ownership with measurable impact on win-rate or velocity
• Excellent technical writing; comfortable with CLI/SQL and turning benchmarks into value
• Analytical, experiment-driven, customer-evidence led

Nice to Have

• Experience with OSS + commercial hybrid models and community-to-enterprise conversion.
• Hands-on with Postgres/MySQL/MSSQL/Mongo CDC, Kafka/Redpanda, dbt, Iceberg/Delta, Trino/Presto, ClickHouse
• Berlin/Istanbul preferred for in-person work
• Proven experience working closely with technical teams
