Therapeutic Area Lead Oncology Germany (m / f / d)

Location: Berlin, Germany

About the role:

The colleague in this role will be the senior business colleague responsible for the Oncology P&L in Germany. The primary responsibility of the colleague in this position is to lead a cross‑functional team of colleagues including sales, marketing, medical, H&V, public affairs and others to deliver the Oncology revenue and IBT targets as well as drive the growth of the Oncology portfolio in country. The colleague in the role will be responsible for developing an annual and multi‑year operating plan and contributing to the broader Oncology strategy across IDM. The Oncology Country Lead will represent the Oncology business at the country leadership level and in the appropriate in‑country and above‑country collaboration colleague should conduct all activities and make decisions that are in accordance with Company policies and SOPs Pfizer Values and global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP / cGLP / cGCP) environment guidelines as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational and Financial Performance

  • Accountable for delivering on all financial commitments maximizing TA revenue through rigorous P&L management and KPI monitoring
  • Lead OP process for the TA and report financials to the Country President
  • Optimize resource allocation to attain business objectives e.g. focus on larger products and upcoming launches and financial control of the business
  • Ensure sales excellence by working together with various sales teams in order to enable and help identify core KPIs to assess the health and success of customer‑facing groups across brands
  • Approach business with a One Pfizer mindset to optimize results for Pfizer

Strategy

  • In collaboration with ICO and the local colleagues further develop the strategy our ambition to grow our inline and launch Oncology portfolio. This includes the successful identification planning and strategy for new products and new business opportunities and partnerships to develop the business in line with Biopharma strategic direction.
  • Develop and execute innovative long‑term business strategies / models to maximize revenue market share and income growth building on strong partnerships between external stakeholders and Pfizer.
  • Work in partnership with Global brand and marketing teams to deliver a future portfolio and strategy that maximizes local opportunities.
  • Maximize lifecycle product performance through excellence in aligned and innovative planning and execution.
  • Identify and exploit market specific opportunities to grow revenue and income.
  • Evaluate develop and execute new go‑to‑market strategies and innovative reimbursement approaches.
  • Lead the development of Pfizer and industry body strategy to influence cancer policy across Germany through collaboration with key stakeholders.

Customer Facing

  • Overall effectiveness of customer facing team outreach activities.
  • Close collaboration with the Sales Portfolio team and their leaders as well as other internal stakeholders to drive execution of customer strategies and tactics.
  • Personal ownership of key stakeholder relationships and external engagement with those stakeholders.

People and Leadership

  • Engage and develop colleagues across businesses and functions to commit to and contribute to the development of our Strategy.
  • Support the continual building of the Pfizer values Culture within the TA and across the country organization.
  • Attract, develop and retain key talent and develop leaders in the organization.
  • Build and actively manage a pipeline of succession talent.

Compliance

  • Proactive leadership and approach to ensure a culture of integrity and compliance for the organization to operate and win in the right way always and at all levels; ensure compliance of regulations and Pfizer policies at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure high standards of Compliance to norms policies and procedures.

About you:

The International Leadership Team aims to identify individuals for the Top 4 Market Therapeutic Area Lead roles who demonstrate strong potential for future senior leadership positions within the organization. To be successful in this role the selected candidate must be fully prepared to assume leadership responsibilities from day one. A proven track record of leadership gained through previous roles in Germany or other European markets is essential and will be a key requirement.

Additional Requirements:

  • University Degree
  • 15 years of excellence leadership experience in Pharma
  • Extensive Pharmaceutical and broader healthcare business knowledge especially in Oncology
  • Broad knowledge and experience of the relevant healthcare and pharmaceutical environment
  • Experience for pharmaceutical product launches in Germany preferred for Oncology
  • Exceptional project and cross‑functional management skills
  • Deep understanding of P&L and demonstrated ability to make bold resource allocation decisions to drive growth.
  • Significant and successful people management and talent development experience at scale
  • Proven success in leading the marketing or management of a multi‑brand portfolio.
  • Proven success of Commercial Leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to partner across functions Medical H&V policy and with global teams
  • Ability to influence across stakeholders
  • Fluency in written and spoken English German not a prerequisite
  • Leading in a matrix organization
  • Proven adoption of novel technologies and high level of interest in Artificial Intelligence
  • Entrepreneurial innovative agile and growth mindset
  • Commercial and marketing acumen and skills (e.g. negotiating skills sales force management etc.)
  • Analytical thinking
