YOUR MISSION:

As one of the Galileo Training and Simulations Managers you will take over a key role in overseeing all the training processes for the operational and system maintenance roles within the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen and will serve as an interface to other teams, the customer and external parties. Additionally, you will manage a team of Training and Simulation officers and provide support as Simulation officer to ensure the successful execution of simulations in the frame of routine and LEOP training operations and support maintain the CSIM element and keeping it representative and up to date.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the Training and Simulations team
  • Interface and coordinate with the Spaceopal Training Manager for training topics and reporting to EUSPA
  • Ensure the adequate training of personnel according to the GSOp Training Plan.
    • Attend and chair certification boards as required.
    • Supervise the planning of training activities for the main operational project roles.
    • Supervise the tracking of certification records on the Training Management System Tool.
  • Optimise the existing training processes, and develop innovative training concepts
  • Coordinate the overall GSOp training topics, such as
    • GSOp training material and sessions
    • Document Deliveries
    • Reviews
    • Proposals
  • Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of the CSIM element. Understand all limitations, major ARs and scripts which are part of each delivery
  • Act as a point of contact between CSIM developer, maintenance team and the facility users to facilitate AR resolution
  • Ensure that the simulator configuration is always in line with the satellite constellation.
  • Maintain and create scripts for the generation of breakpoints for different simulations and/or validation scenarios, including PL activation, clock swap, eclipse, manoeuvres, safe mode recovery, LEOP, etc.
  • Support Flight Control Team with training and validation of operational scenarios as part of a simulation.
  • Ensure coordination between GCC-D and GCC-I (and ENOC if needed) for sim campaigns and general information exchange on ARs and workarounds.
  • Support the LEOP training concept and plan development.
  • Organize nominal and contingency simulation campaigns in preparation for launches and for team training (certification and refresher).

YOUR QUALIFICATION:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or comparable other relevant education
  • Ready to cover a challenging position mixing technical and managerial aspects
  • Relevant experience in satellite subsystems and operations. Experience and background in the Galileo Project in any other department.
  • Experience in the simulation environment.
  • Solid programming background. Javascript and bash/linux knowledge desirable.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with Moodle learning platform is an advantage.
