Join our international underwriting team. You will assess political and economic risks in regions such as Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Southern Europe, and the Middle East and North Africa.

Overview

Location: Hannover, Germany. Permanent position as Underwriter Financial Risks / Suscriptor / a de seguros de crédito, caución y riesgos políticos. You will assess political and economic risks in regions including Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Southern Europe, and the Middle East and North Africa.

Responsibilities

• You will assess economic and political risks, for example when covering payment risks in regions such as Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Southern Europe and the Middle East and North Africa
• You will speak every day with brokers, clients and colleagues in English and Spanish
• You will develop tailored reinsurance solutions and calculate prices for credit insurance, surety cover and political risk protection
• You will build and maintain strong client relationships, including on-site visits, and take an active role in contract negotiations and renewals
• You will observe market trends and help create go-to-market strategies for selected target markets
• After a structured and thorough onboarding, you will take full responsibility for your portfolio and sign contracts independently

Qualifications

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, business with a focus on finance or banking, or a similar qualification such as insurance specialist or industrial clerk
• Initial practical experience in the financial or insurance sector, for example through internships or student jobs
• Fluent English and strong Spanish skills , along with good communication abilities; German is a plus but not required
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis, usually for about one week
• An international mindset, openness, strong client focus and a real passion for working with people
