As an FPGA Developer (m/f/d) at Sentronics Metrology (a Nova Company) in Mannheim, you will take on a key role in developing modern FPGA-based control and signal processing systems for our high-end optical measurement solutions. You will design, program, and simulate complex circuits and collaborate closely with development and quality assurance teams. With your technical expertise and structured working style, you will elevate our systems to the next level – innovative, precise, and future-oriented.

Role Responsibilities:

• Developing FPGA-based architectures for high-precision optical distance sensors
• Designing and implementing high-performance signal processing algorithms for advanced metrology applications in the semiconductor industry
• Programming and simulating complex digital FPGA circuits
• Integrating FPGA modules into existing hardware and software systems
• Maintaining and optimizing existing FPGA projects, including platforms based on Lattice Semiconductor and Intel FPGA
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional development teams to ensure continuous innovation and technological advancement

Requirements:

• A strong academic background in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Several years of relevant professional experience (3+ years), ideally in the field of FPGA development
• Profound expertise in VHDL programming for FPGAs, serving as the foundation of your engineering work
• Solid knowledge of embedded C/C++, particularly in the context of optoelectronic systems, is considered an advantage
• Familiarity with MATLAB or similar tools for modeling and analysis is desirable
• Confident handling of high-speed and standard interfaces such as DDR, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and SerDes
• Experience with softcore processors on FPGAs or SoCs is a strong advantage; alternatively, you demonstrate a high level of motivation and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with this field.
