Job Title: Asset-Based Lending Auditor

Position Summary:
The Asset-Based Lending Auditor is responsible for conducting field audits of current and prospective borrowers to assess collateral adequacy, evaluate financial and operational risks, and ensure compliance with loan agreements. The role involves on-site and remote reviews of accounting systems, receivables, inventory, and controls to help lenders manage risk and maintain credit quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform collateral field exams for existing and prospective ABL clients, including detailed testing of accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable.
Review and analyze borrower financial statements, borrowing base certificates, and general ledger activity.
Identify potential issues in customer invoicing, cash application, credit memo practices, and inventory controls.
Assess internal controls and operational procedures relevant to collateral.
Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, collateral analysis, and recommendations for the underwriting or portfolio team.
Communicate findings with relationship managers, credit officers, and underwriting teams.
Monitor and follow up on any audit exceptions or compliance issues.
Stay up-to-date on industry practices, accounting standards, and ABL market trends.
Work Environment:
Remote with travel to borrower locations.
Must be able to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

Required Qualifications:
Background in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and/or 2–5 years of experience in ABL field examinations, public accounting, or commercial lending.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and asset-based lending concepts.
Proficiency with Excel and financial/accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, etc.).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and written communication skills.
Ability to travel nationally.
