Project Goal
We are looking for an experienced Wikipedia editor with strong research and content skills to help optimise the English Wikipedia article for IU International University of Applied Sciences.

Currently, the article creates confusion because IU operates under two different target “universes”:

iu.de → addressing German-speaking students with three study models.

iu.org → addressing international students, offering on-campus programmes in Germany with English-language degrees.

This distinction is not clearly reflected in the current page, leading to confusion among readers and even large language models (LLMs).



Scope of Work
• Clarify IU’s dual positioning (German vs. international focus) without changing the page completely.
• Ensure the distinction between iu.de and iu.org is clearly explained for English-speaking audiences.
• Edit the Criticism section so that it remains neutral and factual, but also more balanced by adding context, detail, and clarifications that make it less damaging.
• Align edits with Wikipedia’s Neutral Point of View (NPOV) and sourcing policies (no promotional language).
• Incorporate reliable third-party sources (we will provide communication strategy, USP statements, and articles to support the edits).



Deliverables
A revised draft of the English Wikipedia article for IU that:
• Improves clarity around IU’s structure and target audiences.
• Balances the Criticism section with contextual framing and sourced counterpoints.
• Maintains encyclopaedic tone and complies with Wikipedia standards.
Suggestions for future maintenance of the page to prevent recurring confusion.

Important: the draft needs to be approved before being published.



Requirements
• Proven experience editing Wikipedia (with visible contributions to established pages).
• Deep understanding of Wikipedia guidelines (NPOV, verifiability, reliable sourcing).
• Strong English writing and editing skills, with the ability to structure complex institutional information clearly.
• Background in higher education, international education, or related fields is a plus.
