WordPress Divi Website Development for Documentary Project
Location Not Available
Stellenbeschreibung:
We're looking for a WordPress pro to bring our documentary project website to life.
The site has been loosely set up by our IT person, but it needs a full build-out including design, page structure, layout, and content integration.

    What we need:
    • Build out the site using Divi theme (fix global settings that were accidentally misconfigured and reset theme builder vs. page builder confusion).
    • Create a clear site structure with intuitive menus and navigation.
    • Apply our existing brand template (colors + typography).
    • Incorporate provided images, videos, and marketing content into engaging layouts.
    • Set up SEO best practices to ensure visibility.
    • Configure paywall functionality for episodic content (first episode free, future episodes gated).
    • Write or generate website copy (you may use AI to expand on the information I'll provide).

    Required Pages (minimum):
    • Home
    • Landing page
    • Sponsorships page
    • Volunteer/Student page
    • Contact
    • Episodes page (with free + paywalled content)
    • Privacy Policy

That said — I’m not exactly sure what else we might need, so if you have experience building websites for nonprofits, campaigns, or awareness-driven projects, I’d love your input. If you think there are additional pages or features that would strengthen our digital presence, I’m open to your recommendations.

    About the Project:
The Team Shocker Documentary Series revives the inspiring story of a rural North Carolina student team that converted a gas-powered car to electric and won major competitions. Today, we’re using that story to connect students and educators with emerging STEM and electric vehicle career pathways.
The campaign blends compelling storytelling, hands-on learning through a mobile exhibit, and strategic media outreach to bridge North Carolina’s transportation legacy with its future in clean energy. Our audiences include students, teachers, and industry stakeholders.

    Campaign Goals:
    • Outreach: Engage students/educators across NC (goal: 5 schools by end of year).
    • Sponsorships: Secure 3 aligned sponsorships by Sept 2025.
    • Digital Presence: Achieve 10,000 video views across YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

    Style & Feel:
We want the site to be exciting, bold, and racing-themed — fast-paced energy that matches the story of a student team turning a gas-powered car into an electric race car. Think: dynamic visuals, movement, and a sense of momentum that will inspire students, partners, and sponsors to get involved.

Tone & Voice Guide (for Copywriting + Design Choices):
Our communication style comes from a Rooted Anti-Guru approach — serious about learning and supporting teachers, but lighter in feel and approachable. The goal is to be inspiring without being preachy.

Personality: Authentic, approachable, humble, empowering, inspirational, collaborative.
Principles: Keep it real-world and product-driven, highlight outcomes, and cut through jargon.
Emotional Resonance: Spark curiosity, joy of discovery, and pride in student and community achievements.
Messaging Focus: Celebrate student accomplishments and community successes genuinely; showcase creativity and innovation in accessible ways; reflect achievements of those we support without overshadowing them.
Above all, the site should feel relatable, authentic, exciting, and student-centered — no corporate-speak, no buzzwords. Just real stories and energy that draw people in.

    Who we’re looking for:
    • Experienced WordPress designer/developer (with Divi experience).
    • Strong eye for design and ability to bring content/visuals together into a compelling narrative site.
    • Familiar with SEO setup and paywall/content restriction plugins.
    • Comfortable building out copy (AI-friendly approach welcome).
    • Experience with nonprofit/campaign sites and building awareness through digital presence is a big plus.
    • Collaborative, clear communicator who can work with provided strategy outline and media assets.

    Budget & Timeline:
Offer: $100 (this includes making any edits or adjustments based on my feedback).
Deadline: Completed and delivered no later than Sunday, August 24th.

If this sounds like a project you’d enjoy, please share examples of WordPress sites you’ve built (especially with Divi or similar visual builders) and a short note on how you’d approach structuring a project like this.
