Die Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg (OVGU) ist eine forschungsstarke, regional vernetzte und international orientierte Profiluniversität. An der Fakultät für Naturwissenschaften ist am Institut Physik folgende Stelle zu besetzen.

Job Title: Wissenschaftliche r Mitarbeiterin (Postdoc) (m/w/d) für Hochfeld MR Methoden

Entgeltgruppe: 13 TV‑L

Einstellungsdatum: zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt

Befristung: 3 Jahre (opt. Verlierung)

Arbeitszeit: 100 %

Ihre Aufgaben

Methodenentwicklung und -optimierung für 7T Terra.X Impulse Edition und/oder 7T Plus
Präsentation und Publikation von wissenschaftlichen Ergebnissen
Bereitstellen von Methoden in Kooperationen mit klinischen und neurowissenschaftlichen Partnern
Unterstützung bei der Durchführung der universitären Lehre (4 SWS)

Ihr Profil

Erfahrungen in der Forschung im Bereich der Magnetresonanztomographie, idealerweise für Ultrahochfeld-MRT
Abgeschlossene wissenschaftliche Hochschulausbildung (Master/Diplom) sowie Promotion in Physik, Medizintechnik oder einer verwandten Disziplin
Freude an Zusammenarbeit in einem interdisziplinären Team aus Forschern und Medizinern
Sehr selbstständiges, strukturiertes und ergebnisorientiertes Arbeiten
Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift, Deutschkenntnisse sind ein Plus.

Neuroscience is a research focus at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. The Department of Biomedical Magnetic Resonance (BMMR) works in close cooperation with university and non‑university partners on the development of methods for high‑resolution MR‑imaging in humans.

Two ultra‑high‑field magnetic resonance systems of the latest generation are available for our research: the 7 Tesla MAGNETOM Terra.X Impulse Edition (the second worldwide with this technology) and a 7T system upgraded to 7T Plus (formerly the first 7T MRI in Europe).

Dedicated to innovative method development, we are looking for proactive and research‑enthusiastic employees who aspire to a scientific career. We offer the opportunity for thematic independence within the research spectrum of the department and actively support scientific development. The working group welcomes and encourages habilitation pursuits, publication responsibility (including potential last authorship), and the initiative to secure third‑party funding.

Your thematic ideas are welcome and should be outlined in the cover letter (max. 2 pages). The position is initially limited to 3 years, with the option to extend for further 3 years.

Job description

Method development and optimization for 7T Terra.X Impulse Edition and/or 7T Plus
Presentation and publication of scientific results

Requirements profile

Research experience in the field of magnetic resonance imaging, ideally ultra‑high field MRI
Completed scientific university education (Diploma/Master’s) and doctorate in physics, medical technology or a related discipline
Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary team of researchers and physicians
Very independent, structured and results‑oriented working style
Very good written and spoken English, knowledge of German is a plus.
