2 Postdoc Positions in Development Economics, Economic History, and/or Political Economy

TheDevelopment Economics Group at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg , Germany, is offering two full-time postdoctoral positions (m/f/d; pay grade E 13 TV-L Bavaria), each for a duration of 2 years .

We are looking for two new team members with a strong drive to develop and advance their research agenda in development economics, economic history, and/or political economy, and actively contribute to our activities. We are committed to creating a productive research environment and providing support for publishing in leading journals.

Your Tasks:

• Conduct independent research using experimental or quasi-experimental methods
• Develop a highly competitive research agenda
• Establish and maintain research collaborations with internal and external partners
• Present research results at international conferences, workshops, and seminars
• Teach (5 SWS, approximately 2 courses per semester, at the BA and/or MA level)

Your Profile:

• An outstanding PhD in Economics (completed or close to completion)
• Excellent knowledge of methods (e.g., applied microeconometrics) and/or experimental methods (e.g., lab and field experiments and/or survey design)
• Strong interest in topics in one or more of the following areas: development economics, economic history, and political economy
• Ability to work independently, good organizational skills, and high motivation
• Very good command of English, both written and spoken
• Good knowledge of the German language (required for teaching)
