Job Purpose

The Aberdeen Ambassador helps maintain a prominent presence in Aberdeen’s City Centre. They demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, maintain a professional and welcoming attitude when interacting with colleagues, partners and members of the public, and possess a comprehensive understanding of the City Centre and its offerings. The role involves proactive assistance to local businesses and collaboration with the Community Safety team to prevent anti-social behaviour and enhance the environment.

Location & Duration

Aberdeen City, Scotland, United Kingdom, Marischal College. Fixed Term, Full Time.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and welcoming presence in Aberdeen City Centre.
• Interact with colleagues, partners and members of the public.
• Assist local businesses in promoting their offerings.
• Collaborate with the Community Safety team to prevent anti-social behaviour.
• Work rotating shift patterns including weekdays and weekends.

Essential Requirements

• Accountable, proactive and able to manage workload and deadlines independently.
• Recognise and respond to signs of vulnerability, providing assistance or signposting to relevant services.
• Assess and respond to risk within complex situations.
• Communicate and influence effectively across diverse audiences.
• Produce and maintain accurate reports and documentation.
• Use computer packages, e.g., Microsoft Office.
• Empathise with people recognised as vulnerable.

Security Clearance

The role requires Disclosure Scotland clearance. PVG membership cost will be covered by the Council.
