The Role

We are seeking an Account Executive - Newsletter Sales to grow advertising revenue across our newsletter portfolio. The role focuses on outbound sales, top-of-funnel generation, sponsorship prospecting, closing, and building a repeatable pipeline of advertisers and partners. The position emphasizes using AI-native approaches and daily use of Claude and other AI tools to automate and accelerate core sales workflows, including prospect research, account prioritization, contact discovery, outbound support, personalization, and follow-up drafting.

This is not a traditional manual sales role. The right candidate will combine strong sales instincts with AI fluency and a commitment to improving efficiency through systems, prompts, and workflow automation.

What You’ll Do

  • Own outbound sponsorship sales across Mode Mobile Media’s newsletter brands
  • Build a pipeline by identifying relevant advertisers, agencies, and sponsorship partners
  • Generate top-of-funnel activity through research, prospecting, and outbound execution
  • Use Claude daily to improve and accelerate sales workflows
  • Use AI to support list building, prospect research, targeting, outreach preparation, personalization, follow-up drafting, and sales process management
  • Create repeatable AI-assisted workflows that scale outbound volume while preserving quality
  • Identify opportunities to automate sales development work and reduce manual effort
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine prospect lists, outreach angles, packaging, and prioritization
  • Stay close to our brands, audiences, and sponsorship offerings to keep outreach relevant
  • Maintain organization across outreach, pipeline, and prospect activity
  • Help build a scalable, AI-enabled outbound engine for newsletter sponsorship revenue

Who You Are

  • Experience in sales, business development, media sales, advertising sales, sponsorships, partnerships, or newsletter monetization
  • Strong outbound prospecting ability and comfort building a pipeline from scratch
  • An AI-native working style, not just surface-level familiarity with AI tools
  • Daily Claude users preferred. Access to AI tools will be provided
  • Experience using Claude or similar tools to support real sales work, not just writing
  • Clear ability to use AI to improve research, workflow speed, personalization, top-of-funnel output, and sales execution
  • Strong written English and the ability to create effective, concise outbound messaging
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and able to operate independently
  • Comfortable testing new prompts, workflows, and systems to improve results over time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a bias toward action
