What you’ll do

• As an AI Data Engineer for the SAP-RPT model family, you will build and scale the technical foundations that power our AI innovations, develop high-quality, end-to-end data pipelines, execute complex data extractions, and engineer high-value datasets.
• Bridge the technical gap between raw enterprise data and advanced AI research, focusing on tooling and pipelines for curating and refining data assets to ensure maximum utility and performance.
• Work hands‑on with cutting‑edge processing tools, ensuring every dataset adheres to SAP’s industry-leading compliance and data integrity.
• Contribute to the development of one of the few leading foundation models of European origin.
• Design, develop and manage tools and data pipelines to process tabular data at scale, extracting, cleaning, enriching and analyzing data from various sources, ensuring high quality.
• Collaborate with domain experts and application development teams (e.g., from SAP S/4HANA), understanding and interpreting data, metadata and other development artifacts.
• Work closely with data scientists to share data insights and enable the model to be accurately tailored to enterprise data of SAP’s applications.

The Role

Unique opportunity to contribute to the development of the SAP‑RPT model family. Design, develop and manage tools and data pipelines that enable the processing of tabular data at scale. Extract, clean, enrich and analyze data from various sources, ensuring its high quality. The data is subsequently processed, enriched, and utilized as training and benchmark data for the Tabular Foundation Model. In close partnership with domain experts and application development teams (e.g. from SAP S/4HANA), understand and interpret data, metadata and other development artifacts.

What you bring

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or other relevant disciplines.
• Generic understanding of SAP S/4HANA backend and data model (e.g., VDM, CDS Views, RAP, OData) and the Data Dictionary.
• Advanced software engineering skills in Python and proficiency in SQL.
• Hands‑on knowledge in cloud stack (AWS, GCP, Azure) and handling large‑scale data (>1M files; >10TB volume) is a plus.
• Experience with data modelling, ABAP, Machine Learning and/or Knowledge Graph technologies (e.g., RDF, SPARQL) is a plus.
• 2+ years of professional experience. Strong communication, coordination and collaboration skills, and ability to work effectively in cross‑cultural teams.
