The AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2 (FAA A&P or FCC) performs maintenance and inspections on AH-64 systems to FAA standards.

Perform the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance with primary expertise as an AH-64 mechanic, including assembly and modification on a variety of Army and other DoD cross-service aircraft, their major assemblies, sub‑assemblies, components, and related systems.
Install, connect, and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission; install and align fuselage parts; balance, align, and install tail‑rotor assemblies; rig complete flight‑control systems.
Incorporate authorized modifications and changes.
Make operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and powered ground equipment.
Inspect and troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunctions; disassemble to the point of trouble; adjust, repair, realign or replace defective components or assemblies.
Use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches, scales, and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.
Determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair or replacement of parts and the nature and extent of repair required.
Read, apply and interpret technical data.
Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
Perform additional duties as required.

Valid FAA A&P certificate or FCC License (Elements 1 and 3).
Minimum of two (2) years aviation maintenance experience and two (2) years on the assigned AH‑64 MDS Mission Design Series.
High‑school graduate or equivalent.
Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
All experience must be within the five (5) most recent years.
US citizenship required to obtain NAC‑I (T‑1) clearance and for base access in Germany.
Valid US passport required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance, NAC‑I T1 Public Trust.
Interim NACI approval required for deployment.
For those lacking an FAA A&P: must possess or be able to obtain an FCC License (Elements 1 and 3) and have at least three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, three (3) years rotary‑wing aircraft experience and two (2) years on the assigned AH‑64 MDS.
TESA approval (German government) – must be able to qualify for TESA approval with five years total aviation maintenance experience.

Good communication skills and adaptability.
Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to complete all probable work tasks.
Knowledge of quality control, production and supply procedures.

Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 lb; occasionally up to 50 lb.
Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
