About Octopus Energy Trading

Responsibilities

• As a trader, create value from power markets, trade volatility, manage exposure and develop and evolve high‑level trading strategies and analytical tools.
• As a data specialist, design and maintain data pipelines that integrate internal and external market data, and use classical and machine‑learning techniques to produce market‑leading insights.
• As a battery / flexibility team member, maximize the impact of batteries, EVs, heat pumps and other flexible assets across electricity markets and grid services through data‑driven decisions.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Strong experience in the power trading industry, including risk assessment, strategy formulation and quantitative analysis.
• Curiosity and a willingness to challenge existing processes, rebuild solutions and work efficiently.
• Self‑management and ownership: take responsibility for solving problems rather than passing them on.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with developers, customers and stakeholders across the business.
