Analyst / Associate (m/f/d) – M&A Investment Banking | Logistics

Stellenbeschreibung:

Hirschpark is one of Europe's emerging investment banking boutiques, built around a single, deliberate conviction: that depth of sector expertise creates better outcomes than breadth of coverage. We are an independent, owner-managed advisory firm headquartered in Hamburg, and we advise leading European family businesses, global corporations and institutional investors on complex, cross-border M&A transactions across the logistics industry. Our work spans structured sell-side processes and bilateral acquisitions through to buy-and-build strategies, capital structure advisory and fairness opinions.

We were founded by practitioners with a proven track record in logistics M&A, and we combine deep sector knowledge with the rigour and process discipline of a top-tier investment bank. Our mandates are selective, our processes rigorous and our standard of advice uncompromising

THE ROLE

Joining Hirschpark at this stage of our journey means something. We are growing, and we are looking for people who want to grow with us. As Analyst or Associate, you join our transaction team as a full contributor from day one. You will work directly alongside the Managing Partner in a lean, focused team environment where your work genuinely matters. Your financial models land in boardroom presentations. Your structuring arguments shape deal strategy. You will be exposed to the full M&A process from origination through closing.

Because we are owner-managed and growing, the upside here is real. Those who perform and contribute to building the firm will be recognised in responsibility, title and compensation. We promote on merit. If you are exceptional, you will not wait.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of information memorandum, teasers and management presentations
  • Build and audit complex financial models across LBO, DCF, trading and transaction comparables and sensitivity analyses
  • Prepare transaction-specific valuation analyses and support the delivery of fairness opinions
  • Coordinate data rooms, due diligence processes and structured buyer or seller communication
  • Prepare and follow up on management meetings, negotiation sessions and closing documentation
  • Analyse M&A activity, consolidation trends and valuation multiples across the global logistics sector
  • Map and qualify strategic and financial investors; develop and maintain proprietary investor coverage
  • Contribute to sector reports, pitch books and capability presentations in support of mandate origination
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking and target analysis for live origination initiatives

Process & Client Management

  • Communicate directly with clients, financial investors and transaction counterparties
  • Manage live transaction processes: scheduling, status tracking and document management
  • Own quality control across all client-facing deliverables prior to presentation

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We take great care in building our team. More than experience or credentials, we look for people who take genuine ownership of their work, hold themselves to a high standard and care about the quality of what they produce.

Education & Experience

  • Outstanding academic record; Master's or equivalent; in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field, from a leading university or business school
  • Analyst: first relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity or transaction services, through internships or an entry-level role
  • Associate: 2 to 4 years of professional experience in an IB environment

Technical Skills

  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Professional command of PowerPoint; proven ability to produce institutional-quality documents and presentations
  • Full professional fluency in English; German language skills are a strong advantage

What Defines You

  • You deliver consistently and accurately, without being asked twice
  • You think like a principal: you understand the mandate, not just the task
  • You are intellectually ambitious and driven by the quality of the work itself
  • You exercise absolute discretion and take personal accountability seriously
  • You have a genuine interest in logistics as a sector or the intellectual curiosity to develop one

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Live deal exposure from the first week, with no rotation programmes and no shadow tasks
  • Direct mentorship from the Managing Partner; learn how M&A is thought about at the senior level
  • A clear, merit-based progression from Analyst to Associate to Vice President, driven entirely by performance
  • Compensation that reflects your contribution: a strong base salary, a meaningful performance bonus and the opportunity to share in the firm's growth as you advance
  • Access to an exclusive network of Europe's leading logistics strategists, corporate decision-makers and financial investors
  • High-performance team built on Hanseatic values: trust, directness and a genuine commitment to doing excellent work
