Overview

Looking for Animation Artist / Producer / Musical Collaborators – Short Musical Film "Speechless". I’m revisiting a short film project shot in 2024, which I would like to finalize and prepare for festival submissions in 2025. "Speechless" is a short musical film (English language) about two close friends who drift apart, find their way back to each other — and face an unavoidable loss, as one of them is diagnosed with cancer. The story is intimate, emotional, and music-driven. The film is currently in sound cleaning and sound design, and story-wise it has potential to expand into a feature-length musical film in the future (also adaptable into German). The short already contains original songs; for a larger version, further musical and narrative development would be needed.

Who I’m mainly looking for right now:

Responsibilities – Animation Artist (2D)

• To create a short, minimal credit / end sequence that subtly teases the story and emotional arc.
• Not complex — poetic, simple, and atmospheric.
• I’m very open to your own visual ideas. The sequence should work both as credits and as a soft concept teaser.

Additional welcome

• Producer interested in developing the project further or discussing the feature potential
• Composer / Musical Writer with experience in musicals, ideally also interested in lyric writing and story development

Timeline and logistics

The goal is to finalize the short by November and submit it to festivals. This is currently a no-budget student passion project, but I’m hoping to find collaborators who connect with the material and want to help shape its next steps.

Animationsartist:in / Producer:in / Musical-Kollaborationen gesucht – Kurz-Musicalfilm „Speechless"

Ich arbeite aktuell wieder an einem Kurzfilmprojekt aus dem Jahr 2024, das ich nun ruhig und sorgfältig finalisieren und 2025 auf Festivals einreichen möchte. „Speechless" ist ein englischsprachiger Kurz-Musicalfilm über zwei enge Freundinnen, die sich auseinanderleben, wieder zueinander finden — und schließlich mit einem tragischen Verlust konfrontiert werden, da eine von ihnen an Krebs erkrankt. Die Geschichte ist emotional, intim und stark über Musik erzählt. Der Film befindet sich derzeit im Sound Cleaning und Sound Design. Inhaltlich bietet er großes Potenzial, zu einem abendfüllenden Musicalfilm weiterentwickelt zu werden (auch auf Deutsch denkbar). Die Songs im Kurzfilm stammen von mir; für eine größere Fassung wäre eine weitere musikalische und dramaturgische Ausarbeitung geplant.

Aktuell suche ich vor allem:

Verantwortlichkeiten – 2D-Animationsartist:in

• Für eine kurze, reduzierte Credit- / Endsequenz, die die Geschichte und emotionale Idee andeutet.
• Nicht komplex, sondern poetisch und klar.
• Eigene visuelle Ansätze sind sehr willkommen. Die Sequenz soll sowohl als Abspann als auch als inhaltlicher Teaser funktionieren.

Außerdem willkommen

• Producer:in, die Interesse an einer Weiterentwicklung oder dem Feature-Potenzial haben
• Komponist:innen / Musical Writer, idealerweise mit Erfahrung im Musicalbereich und Interesse an Text- und Stoffentwicklung

Ziel ist es, den Film bis November fertigzustellen und anschließend bei Festivals einzureichen. Es handelt sich derzeit um ein No-Budget-Student:innen- Projekt, getragen von persönlichem Engagement und dem Wunsch nach echter Zusammenarbeit.
