As an Application Developer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of directly supporting 10th AAMDC and USAREUR-AF missions.
The Application Developer / Data Analyst is a dynamic role responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights through the development of custom applications and interactive visualizations. This individual will work at the intersection of software development and data science, building the user‑facing tools that allow leadership and staff to explore and understand complex datasets. You will be responsible for both front‑end application development and the statistical analysis required to create meaningful reports and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Develop and maintain web‑based applications and tools using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript (including jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular/TypeScript, and React). Build and support server‑side application logic using languages such as C# and Visual Basic .NET. Create user‑friendly interfaces that allow non‑technical users to interact with and query complex data sources.
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Perform statistical analysis and modeling to identify trends, patterns, and insights that address key mission questions. Design, develop, and manage interactive dashboards and data visualizations using business intelligence platforms like Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and R Shiny. Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and visually compelling reports for a variety of audiences.
- Documentation & User Enablement: Create and maintain comprehensive end‑user documentation, technical guides, and training materials for all developed applications and dashboards. Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their challenges, and design analytical solutions that meet their needs. Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to ensure the data models and pipelines support the requirements for front‑end analytics and application development.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or additional years of experience can substitute for the degree requirement.
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in a role that includes both application development and data analysis. Strong proficiency in front‑end technologies, including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, and experience with frameworks such as Angular, React, jQuery, or Bootstrap.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience in server‑side development with C# and/or Visual Basic .NET. Hands‑on experience developing dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Maven Smart Systems. Expertise in writing complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data from various database systems.
- Foundational knowledge of statistical analysis methods and the ability to apply them to identify trends and patterns in data.
- Security clearance level: Active Secret Level Security Clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Role requirements: Must possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher.
- Must be able to obtain German TESA.
Desirable Qualifications
- Advanced Visualization: Experience building interactive web‑based visualizations with libraries like R Shiny or D3.js.
- Analytical Programming: Proficiency in data analysis languages such as R or Python (with libraries like Pandas, Matplotlib).
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their data services.
- Requirements Gathering: Experience working directly with stakeholders to define project requirements and user needs.
- DoW/Military Context: Previous experience working within a DoD or military environment is a significant plus.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 – $143,750. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements, and may fall outside this range.
Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above the base salary range noted.
