Your Role
- Perform demonstrations of 3D ED/MicroED and XRD equipment in the Rigaku Europe SE laboratory sites as part of the sales process.
- Conduct measurements on a broad variety of customer samples, covering the full pipeline from sample preparation to structure refinement.
- Prepare measurement and demonstration reports within specified deadlines and contribute to related scientific publications, frequently including co‑authorship.
- Deliver on‑site application training for customers following instrument installation or upon request.
- Support customers with application‑related issues and queries in coordination with Rigaku's Service and Software departments.
- Represent Rigaku at conferences, trade shows, seminars, and workshops, acting as an ambassador for our single‑crystal portfolio.
- Prepare webinars and application notes highlighting new features and use cases of Rigaku's single‑crystal instruments.
- Provide technical assistance and advice to our Sales Team.
- Contribute to workflow optimization and product development, collaborating with R&D and Product Management on user‑inspired improvements to new hardware and software features.
Your Qualifications
- PhD or MSc in Chemistry, Mineralogy, Structural Biology, Material Science or a related field.
- Deep practical knowledge of single‑crystal diffraction, including data collection, reduction, structure solution, and refinement.
- Hands‑on experience with single‑crystal X‑ray diffractometers and/or 3D‑ED/MicroED instruments.
- Familiarity with some of the standard crystallographic data analysis packages (such as CrysAlisPro, XDS, DIALS, Olex2, SHELX, CCP4, PETS, Jana2020, XD, MoPro, CRYSTALS). Programming skills in Python are an advantage.
- Sound understanding of crystallography theory and methods used in data analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
