We enable new opportunities for our customers through digitalisation**Asphalt Plant Operative****Asphalt Plant Operative** to join our team and support the smooth running of our plant operations.**About the Role**In this key operational role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high‑quality production of asphalt materials. You will operate, inspect, and maintain both static and mobile plant equipment, ensuring all production meets our rigorous standards.Your responsibilities will include planning next‑day production, completing start-up and shut-down procedures, carrying out routine inspections, and performing maintenance tasks within your competence. You will also support material movement and plant feed operations using mobile machinery such as Front-End Loaders (FEL) and dumpers.This role may involve occasional work at nearby Heidelberg Materials sites; travel allowances may be provided where applicable.**Key Responsibilities**• Operate static and mobile asphalt plant equipment safely and efficiently • Perform routine maintenance including refuelling, greasing, and cleaning, in line with manufacturer and company standards • Complete daily inspection sheets for both static and mobile plant • Report equipment faults or defects promptly to the site supervisor • Submit near‑miss reports in accordance with site safety procedures • Operate all machinery in an energy‑efficient manner • Maintain excellent timekeeping and a professional approach at all times**What We’re Looking For**• Experience in plant operation (asphalt or similar heavy industry preferred) • Competence in operating mobile plant machinery such as FELs and dumpers • Strong awareness of site safety procedures and safe working practices • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • A proactive attitude to maintenance and problem‑solvingAt Heidelberg Materials, you’ll be part of a supportive team within a company committed to safety, sustainability, and employee development.
