The position is teaching-focused, and the appointed candidate is expected to deliver excellent teaching within the taught programmes of LU Leipzig’s School of Computing and Communications, such as the BSc programmes in Computer Science and Software Engineering, as well as the MSc programmes in Data Science and Cyber Security. Activities of the post include curriculum design, assessment setting, delivering lectures and seminars, and administrative responsibilities. While teaching is the primary duty of this post, the position allows for further scholarly activities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent teaching within LU Leipzig’s programmes, including undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science.
  • Engage in curriculum design and assessment setting.
  • Deliver lectures and seminars and undertake related administrative responsibilities.
  • Pursue scholarly activities alongside teaching duties where possible.

Qualifications

  • Solid Computer Science background and a completed PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ideally, experience in teaching and engagement beyond curricular activities.
  • Ability to deliver excellent teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels on topics such as programming languages, software engineering, distributed systems, or human–computer interaction.
