Stellenbeschreibung:

What To Expect Tesla is accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy. Revolutionary strategies and products were developed within a few years and successfully launched on a large scale. This is only possible through extraordinary speed, innovation and efficiency. The Gigafactory Berlin forms the perfect basis for rolling out Tesla's incredible success story in Europe. The most important pillar for this are our employees. Their passion, motivation and engagement ensure that we achieve our goals. We are looking for you to continue and expand this success story together.

The Role

The Technical Services Operation & Maintenance Team continuously monitors and manages utility systems ensuring that they meet the process specifications for vehicle and Cell production. When there are degradations to these systems that impact safety or production, the team is the first line of defense to make time-critical adjustments. The team is also responsible for continuously designing and implementing strategies/improvements to ensure optimum performance of utility systems, working on energy saving projects and driving reliability initiatives for a continuous OEE improvement.

As a Chemical Process Engineer, you will oversee critical production and safety systems (e.g., abatement systems, electrolyte systems, liquid nitrogen infrastructure, industrial gases supply, dust collectors) to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations. Your role centers on optimizing and maintaining these systems to minimize emissions, reduce environmental impact, and advance Tesla’s sustainability goals. This includes:

What You'll Do

  • Technical lead in expansion and/or temporary utility projects (from design to execution).
  • Lead Commissioning activities in collaboration with EPC Team and ensure proper start of operation.
  • Assist/lead the troubleshooting of system operational issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven optimization and collaborate with EPC teams during design reviews to ensure scalable and compliant solutions.
  • Complete monthly system operational cost analysis.
  • Review trends, analyze data, and monitor equipment/systems to identify trends and ensure they are running within specifications.
  • Responsible for monitoring current system data demands and utility capacity concerns.
  • Develop solutions to reduce operational costs and/or improve operational performance of utility systems.
  • Create & modify standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Train facilities personnel on new systems and correct operations.
  • Apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis.
  • Work with EHS Team to ensure/resolve local environmental and safety compliance of systems.
  • Develop and implement predictive and preventive maintenance strategies/programs for systems.

What You'll Bring

  • 4+ years in chemical engineering, process engineering, or similar roles, preferably in Battery production facilities or manufacturing environments such as chemical plants, petrochemical facilities, oil & gas.
  • High EHS awareness required with a proven track record of prioritizing environmental, health, and safety compliance in high-risk manufacturing sectors.
  • General understanding of organic and inorganic interactions, chemical separation/filtration methods, and molecular behavior. Familiarity with volatile organic compounds (VOC) is a plus.
  • Preferably previous experience in manufacturing facilities in Germany.
  • Communication and presentation skills are crucial.
  • German Language is a plus.
