Avionics AIT Technician (m/f/d)

Stellenbeschreibung:

About Rocket Factory Augsburg

At Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA) we have one goal: create low-cost, flexible and reliable access to space. We specialize in the creation of small launcher solutions designed for deploying satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and beyond. Together with you, we want to revolutionize space services and help enhance life on Earth.

About The Team

Our Avionics team plays a key role in enabling RFA’s mission by turning advanced avionics concepts into reliable hardware integrations that support low‑cost and flexible access to space. You’ll tackle diverse electrical and mechanical challenges while working closely with engineers to ensure system performance, safety and build quality.

Your Tasks

  • Install, route, and secure avionics hardware, wire harnesses, and electrical interfaces based on engineering drawings and standards (ECSS, IPC, MIL-STD).
  • Perform mechanical and electrical integration of avionics units into test setups and flight systems, ensuring shielding, grounding, strain relief, and EMC compliance.
  • Conduct functional, continuity, and end-to-end electrical tests using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and test benches.
  • Identify, isolate, and repair faults during integration and testing phases, supporting engineers in root-cause analysis and resolution.
  • Accurately log test data, integration steps, and quality observations in ERP/work-order systems and dedicated technical documentation.
  • Follow work instructions, schematics, mechanical drawings, and cable lists to ensure consistent quality and configuration control.
  • Actively support process development, tooling trials, and feedback loops to improve build efficiency and test reliability.

Your Qualifications

  • Completed technical training/apprenticeship in electronics, mechatronics, or avionics (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in electrical integration, harness installation, or avionics AIT in aerospace, aviation, defense, or high-tech industries.
  • Proficient in electrical testing and integration techniques; confident with common test tools and reading technical documentation (wiring diagrams, BOMs, test plans).
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards such as IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, ECSS, or MIL-STD is a strong advantage.
  • Precision and quality awareness when handling flight hardware or safety‑critical components.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); capable of operating effectively in a fully English‑speaking workplace.

We Offer

  • Atmosphere: Experience life in an international & dynamic New Space start‑up
