lemon.markets

Banking Operations Specialist (f/m/x)

Stellenbeschreibung:

About lemon.markets

We enable anyone to be an investor. Our mission is to grow investing opportunities for all European customers and businesses, providing seamless access to capital markets. By empowering FinTechs, Banks and Wealth Managers to offer investment products, we help create financial well‑being for their customers.

lemon.markets provides a Brokerage‑as‑a‑Service platform for simple digital access to capital markets through a single API. Our API‑first infrastructure makes launching an investment product customer‑centric and compliant. We abstract all complexity for our partners through a well documented API, a self‑service customer operations portal and operating in a clear regulatory framework. Enabling partners to launch in weeks, not months.

We have experienced first hand that brokerage infrastructure is broken. Building an investment product used to be highly expensive, challenging and cumbersome. We ease this pain by shielding our partners & their customers from the underlying complexity - and with that, we make investing seamlessly accessible to everyone. Because that’s exactly what we enjoy, going to places nobody else dares and solving hard problems. This not only creates tons of value when done right, but attracts the smartest minds - because outlier companies are built by exceptional people like you.

Your Mission

As our Banking Operations Specialist , you’ll be the person who keeps the daily “money movement” engine steady and well‑controlled. You’ll run payment cycles, reconcile bank activity every day, and make sure every bank transaction lands correctly in the ledger using clean double‑entry logic.

When something doesn’t match, you’ll bring calm structure: you’ll look into it quickly, document what you did and why, resolve the root cause, and help us build the guardrails so it’s less likely to happen again. You’ll also work closely with Product/Engineering to improve tooling and automation, so over time the operation becomes more reliable, easier to run, and less manual.

In this role you will

  • Execute daily payment runs : you prepare payments, perform checks/controls, and manage release/approval steps.

  • Keep payment routing correct end‑to‑end : you ensure the right rails/providers/bank accounts are used and flows are handled cleanly.

  • Resolve payment exceptions : you monitor statuses and work through rejects/returns/failed payments with clear tracking and follow‑through.

  • Run daily bank reconciliations : you reconcile bank statements vs. internal systems and ledger postings; investigate breaks and drive root‑cause fixes.

  • Ensure ledger‑accurate double‑entry postings : you perform/validate bank‑related bookings (clearing accounts, cut‑offs, balancing logic; accruals where relevant) and keep them traceable.

  • Improve processes and controls : you strengthen SOPs, checklists, evidence standards, and handovers to reduce risk and manual work.

  • Partner with Product/Engineering on tooling : you turn operational needs into improvements (reporting, reconciliation logic, payment tooling, alerting/monitoring).

You’ll be successful in this role if you have

  • Relevant ops experience : you have 3+ years in Banking Ops, Payments Ops, Finance/Accounting Ops, Treasury Ops, or similar, ideally within a regulated environment.

  • Payments execution experience : you’ve run payment operations end‑to‑end, including exception handling (rejects/returns/failed payments).

  • Reconciliation and investigation skills : you are hands‑on when it comes to daily reconciliations, structured break analysis, and thoughtful root‑cause resolution.

  • Strong accounting and ledger foundation : you are confident with double‑entry applied to bank flows, clearing accounts, balancing logic, and cut‑offs.

  • High accuracy and audit‑ready documentation : you’re detail‑oriented, dependable, and consistent about evidence quality.

  • End‑to‑end flow understanding : you are able to explain and reason through payment flows from initiation to booking and reconciliation.

  • Ownership and collaboration mindset : you are reliable in daily critical processes, structured in execution, and comfortable translating operational needs to Product/Engineering while driving continuous improvement.

How we take care of you
