Battery Application Engineer

Job Description

The application engineer position will work to deliver technical support as part of a cross‑functional team between business development managers, account managers, product management, and engineering to drive growth in the high‑power, programmable DC power supply business across battery development and testing applications. The role offers an opportunity to develop deep engagements with key customers in this market and to collaborate internally with key teams in the commercial and product development organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultative assistance to key customers on their power and test solutions for battery applications, by presenting and demonstrating technology solutions including all hardware, software, and service offerings.
• Consult on and support customers in current and future test architectural designs and measurement techniques throughout the workflows of battery development from R&D to production.
• Ensure installation, training, and acceptance of solutions into customers’ workflows, and provide continuing technical support to these systems.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve customer software and hardware issues in our high‑power, battery portfolio.
• Provide clear customer and market feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams on future product hardware and software needs.
• Support the investigation and understanding of our competitors and develop competitive selling tools.
• Work with Product Management teams to create internal sales training and marketing collateral.
• Work with Sales and Business Development teams to identify and develop business development plans for the region.
• Work with account management teams to build intimate relationships with key accounts by delivering world‑class technical consultation.

Qualifications

• Technical degree and/or master’s in electronic engineering or a related field with a strong knowledge of battery and power electronics technologies.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in product management, technical sales, or business development.
• At least 7 years experience working in the battery, renewables, or automotive market with a strong understanding of battery technology and ecosystem.
• Strong technical problem‑solving skills.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills – the ability to lead complex projects from inception to completion and balance multiple deliverables.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and with teams.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities, with strong communication skills in German and English.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct VOC and synthesize insights.
• Ability to learn complex technology/clinical applications and take initiative.
