The Institute of Botany (IBOT) conducts modern molecular plant science in all its facets, ranging from basic research to application-oriented projects. Currently, approximately 60 research staff members - including undergraduate and graduate students as well as doctoral and post-doctoral researchers - are involved in a wide range of interdisciplinary research projects.

The Plant Physiology Research Group within the Institute of Botany welcomes applications for the following permanent position starting at the earliest possible date: Biological or Chemical Technical Assistant (BTA/CTA) (salary scale 9a TV-L, 90 %).

Your role

You will be responsible for biological and technical work in the fields of plant cultivation, plant physiology, and molecular biology/protein chemistry as well as the associated analytical methods. Your responsibilities will also include tasks related to laboratory logistics and organization. You will assist us in student instruction and training and the management of relevant resources.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate must have completed the necessary professional training (staatlich geprüfte Technikerin / staatlich geprüfter Techniker) ideally in the field of Biology or Chemistry. We are looking for a dedicated individual, who can work effectively in a team with doctoral candidates and students and who can keep a cool head even when the workload is high. You should have experience in molecular and biochemical techniques. You are comfortable managing complex measuring equipment as well as handling laboratory and administrative tasks. You are characterized by creativity, teamwork, and flexibility.

In addition, we expect good English skills and, ideally, basic knowledge of MS Office and other data analysis software.
