As a (Senior) AI / Data Science Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to connect Large Language Models (LLMs) with current and dynamic data, enhancing our market-leading BPM software for clients. You will work as part of a motivated, international team, driving tasks independently while contributing to a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and build robust data preparation pipelines, including extraction, cleansing, transformation, and integration.
- Implement efficient retrieval mechanisms (e.g., vector databases) to supply up‑to‑date information to LLMs.
- Optimize interfaces between data sources and LLMs to enable real‑time data integration without extensive fine‑tuning.
- Develop algorithms and workflows that allow LLMs to generate context‑aware responses from dynamic data sources.
- Evaluate and enhance the efficiency and accuracy of retrieval and data enrichment processes.
- Collaborate closely with software developers to bring AI solutions into production.
- Document and monitor pipelines and systems to ensure seamless operation and continuous optimization.
Your profile
- Solid experience in data extraction, cleansing, and structuring from various sources (e.g., APIs, databases, documents).
- Hands‑on knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector database technologies.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their production‑level integration without extensive retraining.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Java.
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases as well as search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch).
- Experience designing scalable systems and services, preferably in cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Familiarity with processing unstructured data (e.g., document processing, text mining, NLP).
- Very good English language skills (C1 level) and proficiency in German (good).
