Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Brand Technical Specialist for IBM's Automation Platform, you will act as a technical consultant to IBM clients and sellers by architecting solutions and delivering Proofs of Technology for Automation Platform products. In this role, you will collaborate with clients and sellers to design and implement solutions that meet their business needs.

• Architect Solutions: Design and deliver Proofs of Technology for Automation Platform products, including Cloud Pak for Applications, DevOps, and Enterprise Application Service for Java, to meet client business needs.
• Deliver Technical Consultation: Provide technical expertise to IBM clients and sellers on Automation Platform products, helping them to understand the capabilities and benefits of the solutions.
• Collaborate with Clients: Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs, leveraging Automation Platform products.
• Develop Solution Delivery: Lead the delivery of solutions, ensuring that they are implemented effectively and meet client expectations.
• Maintain Technical Knowledge: Stay up‑to‑date with the latest developments in Automation Platform products, maintaining your technical expertise and knowledge to provide the best possible solutions for clients.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Software Development & Developer Platforms

• Strong experience in modern software development environments, especially microservices on Kubernetes.
• Ability to understand how developers design, build, deploy, and operate applications in daily work.
• Technical depth to discuss architecture and implementation topics with developers and platform teams.

Platform Architecture & Practical Problem Solving

• Experience designing scalable, reliable platform and application architectures.
• Ability to analyze real technical challenges and translate them into clear, implementable solutions.
• Focus on automation, usability, and operational stability.

Platform & Service Ownership

• Experience taking end‑to‑end responsibility for technical platforms or services.
• Understanding of how services are built, operated, and improved over time in production environments.
• Awareness of reliability, availability, and operational responsibilities.

Technical Communication & Enablement

• Ability to explain complex technical topics in a clear and pragmatic way.
• Comfortable working closely with developers, architects, and platform teams, as well as with non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Secrets Management & Secure Application Platforms

• Strong expertise in centralized secrets management, including secure storage, access control, and lifecycle management of credentials, keys, and tokens.
• Experience integrating secrets management into Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and application runtimes.
• Ability to position security as a foundation for stable and efficient development workflows.

Identity, Access & Visibility

• General understanding of identity, authentication, and authorization concepts.
• Experience with identity and access platforms that provide visibility and control across users, applications, and services (e.g. IBM Verify).

DevOps, CI/CD & Automation

• Experience working with automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of how security and identity fit naturally into DevOps workflows.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform is a plus.

Enterprise & Service Environments

• Experience working in enterprise or managed service environments is beneficial.
• Familiarity with reliability, availability, and operational governance topics.
