Stellenbeschreibung:

Job Description

In a nutshell

As a Business Analyst, expert in LIMS Processes, you will support our in‑house chromatography data processing application. You will translate laboratory and business requirements into clear deliverables, optimize analytical workflows for quality and efficiency, and ensure compliance with major EU environmental testing laboratory standards.

You will partner with laboratory leaders, product and engineering teams, finance, and commercial stakeholders to standardize processes and guide delivery of features that streamline instrument data capture, processing, quality control (QC), technical review, and reporting across hyphenated and non‑hyphenated analytical workflows (gas chromatography GC, liquid chromatography LC, inductively coupled plasma ICP and mass spectrometry (MS)).

Where will you be based and what business will you support?

Based in Hamburg, Germany; you will join a globally distributed team in support of our European Environmental Testing business, with a primary focus on chromatography data processing application.

How can you help us?

You will work on the following main areas:

  • Assess the EU Environmental Testing market, regulatory expectations, and laboratory operational data to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality improvement, and margin enhancement.
  • Support EU‑focused pricing, client segmentation, and demand modeling to guide product and investment priorities.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance turnaround time (TAT), analytical quality, data reliability, and regulatory alignment.

Product / Requirements Ownership (Chromatography Data System Software), to:

  • Serve as primary liaison between EU laboratory stakeholders and the Product Development team.
  • Elicit, document, and refine Business Requirements, User Requirements, and acceptance criteria (including non‑functional needs like performance and usability).
  • Maintain and update process documentation, including BRD (Business Requirements Document), URD (User Requirements Document), and BPMN (Business Process Model & Notation).
  • Collaborate with Product Development team to translate requirements into functional designs; help groom backlogs and support release scoping.
  • Lead EU‑regional user acceptance testing (UAT), business sign‑off, and change management for new features and workflow updates.

Cross‑Functional Business Support, to:

  • Partner with laboratory directors, technical leads, and product teams across the EU to harmonize chromatography data workflows.
  • Facilitate workshops with subject matter experts (SMEs) to challenge assumptions, streamline workflows, and improve cross‑site alignment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across operations, R&D, quality, IT, and commercial units.

Process Optimization & Quality Alignment, to:

  • Map current vs. future‑state EU laboratory workflows; identify gaps, risks, and compliance needs.
  • Ensure alignment with Eurofins Quality System Documents (SOPs, methods, work instructions).
  • Ensure processes, requirements, and software workflows comply with key EU laboratory frameworks, including: ISO/IEC 17025, EU Ecolabel testing requirements, and EU Member State national accreditation bodies operating under EA (European co‑operation for Accreditation).
  • Support audit preparation, nonconformity resolution, CAPAs, and continuous improvement.
  • Track corrective actions and measure system/process impact post‑deployment.
  • Build dashboards (performance, throughput, error rates, QC metrics, method performance, adoption/usage).
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational reviews with EU‑specific actionable insights.
  • Validate product requirements with data, quantify product value, and measure outcomes.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 3+ years as a Business Analyst or Product Owner/Analyst in software, laboratory operations, or scientific environments.
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation in an Agile environment (e.g., Jira/Confluence).
  • Familiarity with laboratory informatics such as LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and CDS (Chromatography Data System).
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills across multi‑cultural EU teams.
  • Working knowledge of EU environmental testing compliance frameworks, including but not limited to: ISO/IEC 17025, EU Ecolabel requirements, and European Accreditation (EA).
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Excel (SQL/BI tools a plus).

You are:

  • A fast learner.
  • Self‑motivated with a can‑do attitude.

What else should I know?

  • Experience in environmental laboratory operations, chromatography workflows, or EU‑regulated scientific environments.
  • Experience building BPMN workflows and writing functional specifications.
  • Exposure to LIMS, CDS, or scientific data management platforms; understanding of instrument integration.
  • MBA, M.Sc., or advanced scientific/technical degree.
