Our Energy, Thermal and Renewables (ETR) Division delivers technical, environmental and management consulting services for hydropower, thermal, wind and solar technologies.
We have been active in the German market through initiatives such as offshore hydrogen projects, hydrogen‑ready thermal assets, BESS development and wind farm transactions.
Role Overview
You will lead the growth and profitability of our Energy Transition business in Germany, owning and expanding a successful portfolio, building client relationships, and contributing to the leadership of the German team.
Key Responsibilities And Duties Include
- Develop a portfolio strategy aligned with the regional sector focus, Division and Unit business plan.
- Build strong and robust client relationships, both externally and internally.
- Identify opportunities and turn them into prospects.
- Drive the bidding process, converting prospects into projects, ensuring bids are technically and commercially sound.
- Oversee the delivery of commercially robust projects, ensuring quality outcomes for clients on budget and schedule.
- Manage risk and commercial performance across the portfolio; coordinate with Bid and Project Principals.
- Promote services across the wider business.
- Work effectively with Resource Managers and Project Technical Leaders to bring the right resources to deliver projects to client satisfaction and meet profit targets.
- Identify resource needs and gaps for current and future projects; collaborate with Resource Managers to enable effective recruitment and long‑term resourcing.
- Identify alternative resourcing opportunities with GDS, supply chain and digital solutions.
- Develop relationships with sector partners aligned with our skills and culture to bid for and deliver projects.
- Address client issues and fulfill their aspirations on environment, sustainability and social impact.
- Adapt to a fast‑paced environment and changing market dynamics.
Candidate Specification
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- In‑depth knowledge of the German national market drivers and competitive landscape.
- Strong networking and collaboration skills with national and international partners.
- Extensive experience in the energy transition sector, a wide client network, and deep understanding of energy markets and growth trends.
- Ability to prioritise, influence and collaborate, driving excellence and results.
- Capability to own multiple client accounts and provide consolidated reporting on aggregate performance.
- Natural leadership skills enabling culture setting of a collaborative, high‑performance environment.
- Strong business and commercial focus.
- Fluent in German business language.
- Fluent in English business language.
We'd Love To Hear From You If You Have
- A degree in a relevant engineering subject.
- Chartered Engineer or professional registration and membership of a relevant institute.
- Proven success in delivering power generation projects for a consultant, designer, contractor or major industry client.
- Experience managing large multidisciplinary proposals.
- Knowledge of change, risk, project, schedule and cost management.
- Ability to make complex decisions, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to and accepting responsibility for actions.
- A commitment to promoting health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to adapt and work on multiple proposals simultaneously in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
