The High Resolution and Automated Microscopy department is part of the Fraunhofer Translational Neuroinflammation and Automated Microscopy TNM , the Göttingen site of the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP .

At Fraunhofer TNM , we improve our understanding of the cellular phenotypes of various diseases and identify potential drug targets by combining super‑resolution microscopy techniques with genome editing and advanced image analysis. As a multidisciplinary team of biologists, physicists, and data scientists, we intend to create added value for clinical and pharmacological research by using super‑resolution microscopy methods.

Modern microscopy techniques, such as STED microscopy, enable the analysis of protein localization and distribution at the nanometer scale. Thus, previously unknown changes in the structure and dynamics of protein clusters within diseased cells of patients can be investigated.

The possibility of detecting clinically relevant abnormalities will contribute to a better understanding of cellular changes in various diseases. As a business development manager, you will represent our technologies and services at trade fairs, actively engage with potential customers, and develop new business opportunities. By identifying market and customer needs, you will help us to continuously adapt and refine our portfolio.

Be part of change

Coordinate the external strategic positioning of the Fraunhofer TNM site and further develop its activities within Fraunhofer health research.
Drive the acquisition and growth of research projects, with a focus on industry collaborations.
Analyze market trends and customer needs to support portfolio and strategy development.
Support the head of the institute in developing business strategies and strategic partnerships.
Represent the institute, along with its products and services, at trade fairs and client meetings.
Support the team during the production of advertising materials and the management of external communications.

What you contribute

Degree in a natural science field, ideally with a Ph.D.
Experience in industry and knowledge of strategic project development
Strong project coordination, program management, and communication skills
Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
A collaborative and personable approach, coupled with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners
Quick comprehension, a structured and independent work style, and team spirit

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part‑time basis and is initially limited to a period of two years.
