Reports to: EMEA Sales Manager, Renewable Energy

Our renewable energy division focuses on delivering advanced solutions specifically designed to support solar energy monitoring projects.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic and robust Business Development plan to enable Campbell Scientific to meet its objectives for the European market. The Business Development Manager reports to the EMEA Sales Manager and will be responsible for leading and supporting Account Manager/s and Inside Sales Representative/s in Europe.

A principal focus is on growing business in Europe, developing new business, and in particular growing our customer base.

The role combines team leadership and sales management to drive Renewable Energy sakes within Europe whilst maintaining target profit levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively grow EMEA sales revenue with our Renewable Energy clients by being responsible for team performance, sales strategy execution and maintaining pipeline health.
  • Lead, mentor, coach and support the Renewable Energy Account Managers and Inside Sales Representative/s to drive sales performance and account growth.
  • Develop Partners, Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and Integrators in alignment with sales strategy.
  • Manage key customer accounts.
  • Respond to and follow up on requests for quotes and product information and provide education opportunities for customers on CS products.
  • Configure and quote complex data acquisition systems and multi-station networked solutions in collaboration with customer needs.
  • Travel for the purpose of sales, customer relations visits and trade shows.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex client issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, logistics, marketing, operations) to align solutions with customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Recognize and report on changes in the market and obtain feedback from customers to achieve and maintain competitive products and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Proven experience in account management or sales leadership, ideally in the renewable energy or instrumentation sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-border teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French and/or Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned regions as required.
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
