Alpitronic

Business Intelligence & Systems Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Stellenbeschreibung:

We are looking for a Business Intelligence and Systems Design Engineer to define and steer the architecture, requirements and interfaces of a new power electronics system (hardware, controls, software and integration) developed by the Nürnberg Power Electronics Innovation Lab. It ensures that the system concept meets target applications, performance and cost goals, and can be industrialized and scaled in the broader Alpitronic 'Power Electronics beyond Hypercharger' portfolio.

Your Responsibilities

  • Define the overall system architecture and key interfaces (e.g. power stage, control units, communication, cooling and mechanics) for the new power electronics system in close collaboration with the Innovation Lab team
  • Collect, structure and prioritise system‑level requirements from target applications, customers and internal stakeholders, translating them into clear specifications and design targets
  • Lead system‑level trade‑off discussions (performance versus cost, complexity, modularity and scalability) and prepare decision templates for management
  • Ensure the consistency of system requirements and interfaces across disciplines (hardware, controls, software, mechanics, testing and industrialisation) throughout the entire development lifecycle
  • Coordinate system‑level design reviews and ensure that subsystem designs are aligned with the overall architecture and target applications
  • Define and support system‑level testing and validation concepts (including corner cases, grid and vehicle interactions and environmental conditions) to demonstrate the suitability of the power electronics system for its intended markets
  • Work closely with Product Management, Solutions Marketing and Business Development to ensure the system design reflects future market needs and allows for derivatives and platform extensions

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in (power) electronics, industrial engineering or similar technical field
  • Several years of experience in systems design in an industrial or high‑tech environment, ideally with exposure to innovation, R&D, or product businesses, ideally in power (supply) electronics or related fields
  • Solid understanding of the power electronics market, its players and relevant competition mechanics incl. trends to watch
  • Proven track record in translating business requirements into pragmatic system solutions and rolling them out successfully to heterogeneous user groups
  • Strong communication skills to balance technical constraints, user needs, and management expectations and to drive change in processes and tools
  • Analytical, solution‑oriented mindset with the ability to challenge existing setups and design future‑proof systems together with stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, German and/or Italian as a plus

OUR COMMITMENT

  • Innovative work environment in a young, dynamic team
  • High‑tech projects in the future‑proof sector of e‑mobility
  • Opportunities for advancement in a growing company
  • A wide range of further training opportunities
  • Attractive bonus system and performance‑related pay
  • Additional company benefits
