We’re looking for an engineer who understands the power grid — not just from a code perspective, but from a physics and systems point of view . You’ll help us simulate real-world electrical infrastructure, from transformers and overhead lines to fault conditions and power flow behaviours.

This is not a typical software developer role. You should be someone who enjoys working with simulation models , has a solid background in electrical engineering , and is confident turning physical behaviours into clean, maintainable C++ code .

Overview

We’re seeking an engineer who can translate physical electrical systems into robust software simulations, focusing on grid behaviour and reliable execution across platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain C++-based simulation models for electrical grid behaviour
Focus on short-circuit modelling , power flow, and grid stability
Collaborate with domain experts to translate physical systems into simulation logic
Work across Windows and Linux environments , depending on team/project
Optionally contribute to tooling in Python and Qt framework
Participate in technical discussions and knowledge sharing across a 60-person software team

What You Bring

4+ years of experience in C++ programming (ideally simulation-oriented)
Background in electrical power systems or energy grid modelling
Knowledge of short-circuit behaviour , transformer modelling, and system faults
Strong mathematical thinking; ability to turn formulas and grid logic into software
Comfortable working with both Windows and Linux environments
Bonus: Experience with Python or GUI development using Qt
German language is required (C1-C2)
