THE ROLE OVERVIEW

The Experienced Certified Accountant (Italy) will build a small accounting team and insource all accounting activities from our external tax advisor. The senior accountant will support ILOS’ Italian business with strong financial reporting, statutory compliance and day-to-day accounting oversight. The role sits within the finance function and works closely with local and central teams to ensure accurate financial information, timely closes, and robust control across our Italian entities and projects.

This is a hands‑on role covering core accounting, local statutory obligations, and support to budgeting and forecasting. You will help build scalable finance processes as ILOS continues to grow in Italy, ensuring we remain compliant while providing clear, reliable reporting to support decision‑making.

TASKS

• Independent preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the Italian Commercial Code
• Accrual accounting and audit‑proof documentation of financial statements
• General ledger accounting for all Italian group companies
• Ensuring accurate accounting of complex business transactions within the Italian company group
• Handling VAT‑related matters, including filings and audits
• Preparation and review of tax returns
• Processing of financial transactions for Italian companies
• Preparation of intercompany invoices in the state invoice system based on group‑wide transfer pricing guidelines
• Intercompany reconciliation of open items and loans
• Review yearly budget forecast and implement actions/amendments.
• Collaborating with internal departments and external partners
• Managing special topics such as mergers, liquidations and company/share acquisitions
• Providing professional support to accounting teams across all group entities and communicating in English
• Supporting the optimization of internal processes and structures
• Build up a small team related to the expected growth of the company group

PROFILE

• Completed qualification as a Certified Accountant
• Sound experience and confidence in overall bookkeeping and in preparing independent financial statements under the Italian Commercial Law (IFRS knowledge is a plus)
• Solid understanding of tax law, particularly VAT
• Experience working with external auditors and tax authorities
• Independent, structured and solution‑oriented working style
• Organized, detail‑focused, and reliable with delivery and follow‑through
• Strong teamwork skills, openness and willingness to actively contribute
• Clear communicator who can work well with non‑finance stakeholders in a remote, fast‑moving business
• Fluent in English, German language skills a plus.
