Working Group ChemCar: Design of a Chemically Powered Model Vehicle for the VDI Competition
In the Working Group ChemCar, students from all faculties come together in an interdisciplinary team to design and construct a (bio)chemically powered model vehicle. The aim is to select a reaction system and harness it technically to reliably power the vehicle and bring it to a controlled stop. Participation in the Working Group ChemCar can be accredited as a Project Thesis, Study Thesis, or similar.
The aim of the Working Group ChemCar is to participate in the VDI ChemCar Competition, which takes place annually as part of a renowned process engineering conference. In the competition, student teams from all over the world compete against each other with the self-constructed model vehicles to drive a distance determined on the day of the competition as precisely as possible. In addition to precision, evaluation criteria include creativity, presentation, and safety.
